We have begun to receive not only offers of help to do the work of converting the building into a shelter, but also we are not receiving donations. Not a lot, but it’s a start. In a few day, we will have a booklet available for promoting this effort. I’m just waiting for our English major to check my grammar. I may have worked with fathers for 11 years, but I still talk like a truck driver, which I did until I was injured in 1988. When the booklet is ready, it will be posted in PDF format in the web site. In fact if anyone wishes to view the mock up you will need the download Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is free from https://get.adobe.com/reader/.
Just don’t show it around until it’s ready, at which time it will be available to down and print on legal size paper. This way anyone in the country can approach friends, relatives, or your employer about donating to this cause. Once this shelter is up and running, it will be used as the center piece to open others around the country.
We may only be able to save one person at a time, but save enough of them and you have a crowd to show the media and those in government that fathers and children also deserve the right to be abused by a violent woman. So, thank you to those of you who have been able to donate, and to the others, even if you cannot afford to do so, talk to others and tell them that this is a good cause.
